JOB SUMMARY
The objective of the Driver I is to be responsible for all labor job activities but not limited to, recycling, refuse collections, building and yard maintenance, bailer operation; other activities related to operating and maintaining refuse collection vehicles, reading, and memorizing route maps, customer service, container maintenance, and other duties as assigned.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties described below are indicative of what the Driver I may be asked to perform; other duties may be assigned:

Expectation to:
• Loads and hauls refuse.
• Maintain and repair karts and/or dumpsters.
• Prepare records of items picked up and items to be picked up.
• Perform minor repairs to trucks and equipment's used.
• Clean and maintain equipment and storage area.
• Cross-trains in other areas of Public Works Department as appropriate. Assists in other departments when needed.

Supports the operations of the department by:
• Demonstrates ability to plan, complete tasks and monitor results within established deadlines.
• Effectively applying knowledge to solve a range of problems.
• Following department policies on a consistent basis.
